I finished my annual maintenance three months ago and am wondering how many of the owners of 05+ LT's are servicing their EHCS on a regular schedule. I remove and open/flush/replace seals/O-rings on an as-needed basis, …

Be that as it may, below is what I would like to do: 1. Install an aftermarket radio (recommendations on which one are welcome), 2. power the radio, 3. hook the radio up to the LT's speakers (I will probably upgrade so recommendations would be nice although I see another thread on that already), and 4. have the radio interface with the ...

At 105C both fans turned on, and turned off when the engine temperature reached 99C. The air temperature around the bike starting increasing to 42C, so the bike was taking a bit longer to cool, and faster to warm in between fan runs. These are my readings: 1- Fans on: 1:33. - Fans off: 1:43. 2- Fans on: 2:05.

Here's why I switched: the GT has less weight, more power and rides the twisties like it was ESP. It costs less than the LT, but I prolly added another 3 grand in farkles. Of course, on the LT I eventually added twice that. I'm 50 years old and purdy beat to hell by life, working, playing and bike crashes (pins, rods, scars, an ankle fusion, etc.)

Re: BMW K1200LT vs K1200LTC Actually,I just checked the US web site and the chrome package is included now with the US standard model unless there is extra chrome you can add I am not aware of.But there still is an extra 3000 dollar difference for a canadian purchase.Almost a 15% difference. There is some additional costs operating in …

I sure love all of the gadgetry that the GTL offers, it's easy to adjust the throttle settings and suspension settings among other things. Like Stevie says check out the K1600 forum! A tee in the fuel pressure line from the pump to the fuel rail is about the only way to test the LT. There is no pressure test port on the rail. The regulator is a pressure relief valve, that bypasses at the set pressure to pass excess fuel back to the tank, so that a pressure test anywhere between the fuel pump and regulator will give you the ...

The 2005 K1200LT has two fuse boxes. 1 is left, 2 is right. There is an addendum page 2-52 switching the fuse box numbers. Order No. 01 47 7 690 567 02.04 1st edition US/RF. P.S.: There is another addendum about the immobiliser (yes, it is English, not American...). You cannot start the engine of your motorcycle while the immobiliser is …

The Deed: Put the magnetic base on the bolted on platform, place the dial indicator spindle on the center of the hub. Pry the hub assembly up in the bore. 1. Now take the SMALL soft faced hammer and "thump" the hub to seat it back down, 2. zero the indicator and pry up again. Read the indicator. Do 1 and 2 numerous times to find the consistent ...

Then, tapped two holes in the upper fork brace and mounted the bracket to the fork brace. Makes more sense to me that if should be independent of the bar.

If you battery is old / weak, you may need a re-charge after the above steps. These ABS modulator are power hungry. 7) Ideally, we would ALSO need to read the fault codes of the ABS unit to help troubleshooting further. To do so you would need either a GS911 or go to dealer to plug it on their computer.

According to the schematic in the Clymer manual, the green/black wire to the switch is 12V, the gray/yellow is switch output, which joins with another gray/ yellow to go to the brake light relay. And, yes, the same fuse (fuse box 1 fuse 1) feeds both brake light switches. Be aware the Clymer schematics are not accurate.

Where are the VIN LOCATIONS on a K1200LT. My state needs to be certain that vehicles brought in from another state are not stolen. For this reason they want to compare the Vehicle Identification Number on my Louisiana title to at least two VINs on my bike. I have found ONE on a plastic sticker to the right of the battery under the seat.
